funcalgary.com was officially launched on July 1st, 2000 (although it existed for three years prior to its "official" launch) with the expressed goal of providing affordable internet exposure for local entertainers and companies in the entertainment industry in and around Calgary Alberta, and to give web surfers a locally focused site that they could use as a research tool in finding the right company for their events and parties.
We began as a free service our first year and have since moved to an affordable $50/year page and subdomain system to cover site operational costs. Our year runs from Oct 1st to Sept 30th. Although the look and feel of funcalgary.com has changed over the years our goal has not; To promote local entertainers and serve as a unique and stand alone source for local event planners and families requiring the services of these entertainers.
We currently average over 40,000 hits per month resulting in many bookings for our membership via clients finding them on our site!
